Happy Thanksgiving!

I know many of you are running around the kitchen finishing up those last minute Thanksgiving details :)  But I just had to share some pictures with you that I caught last night. 

I was in my "office" editing and decided to take a break from the computer.  I'm so glad I did.  My husband and our baby girl were sitting in the middle of the living room floor watching the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Special on TV.  Too Cute!

The party...

So this year Hailey wanted a cabbage patch kid slumber party.  Honestly, I was thrilled because that meant she was still interested in playing with dolls and it eased the pain of "I can't believe my daughter is turning 10".  I have to say that Hailey is blessed with great friends.  These girls are genuine, sweet, and so much fun to have around.  Not to mention, their moms are pretty great too - I guess the apple doesn't fall to far away from the tree :)

The girls had a great time and I'm so thankful to my circle of friends that are always so willing to help.  Kim, Charnelle, and Tracey - you ladies are really the BEST!  Thanks for being there.

Happy Birthday Hailey!

Today my middle child turns 10 years old.  It's hard to believe my little lady is in the double digits.  It truly does not seem like it's been a decade since I delivered my little 9lbs 3oz - 21.5 inches long, baby girl.  Hailey is my little comedian, she always finds a way to make me laugh.  She is a great helper.  I'm convinced the best big sister in the world.  Hailey is a little shy, if she doesn't know you.  But blessed are the people that she loves, because she loves with her whole heart.  As a mom, that makes me proud and scared at the same time.  Knowing that her heart is tender - tears are inevitable.  When I think about how fast the past 10 years have gone by... I can't imagine how quickly the next 10 years will come.

It's a NEW Day...

I'm not thrilled with the way the election turned out but I realize that today is a new day and whether I agree with the decision that was made or not, today is here and I have to trust in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I was looking on MySpace this morning and came across a blog entry of a friend.  I couldn't agree with her more - so I'm posting her message just as she wrote it.

Today is a new day. It's a new era. Regardless of who you voted for or why, it's time to switch gears. It's time to pray for Obama as he transitions to become the President of the United States.

And furthermore, you need to know this is not a surprise to God. Before the billions of dollars were spent on this campaign, God already knew the outcome. He wasn't sitting around the television last night ringing his hands like you were.

He doesn't need a Republican or a Democrat, an electoral vote, or a state. He's not red or blue. He's God.

He's God and I'm not. You're Not. Obama is not. McCain is not.

So if your candidate lost. I'm sorry. If you're worried your issues aren't going to be being addressed. I'm sorry. But God is still God and He's still sitting on His throne.

Let's move on.

A Day on the Ranch...

Last week, my daughter's home-school group went on a field trip to The Diamond D Ranch.  It was perfect weather - well except for a few raindrops here and there.  Rain or shine, the kids had a great time riding ponies, feeding animals, and learning about life on a ranch.   I must admit - I've been such a slacker lately in the "picture taking department" of my kids.  It seems that when I have a day off from shooting, I don't want to be the one behind the camera :)  I just want to enjoy my family.  However, on this field trip I decided to grab my camera and I'm so glad that I did.

Honestly, I'm not an "outdoorsy" kinda girl - but this was a fun field trip.
I would definitely recommend it to others.  The kids had a blast and so did the parents.

I am so blessed to be a part of our home-school group.  The parents involved are so helpful and genuine.  I really don't know what I would do without them and I am so thankful for the things I have learned from them.

Little Treasures

Don't you love it when you find something you forgot you had?  A little treasure...I do.  Especially when the "something" is a picture.  I was looking through some files today and found some pictures of my baby girl that I forgot I had taken.  Carolyn started walking a couple of months ago but we just recently bought her first pair of shoes.  She practiced a little in the store but when we got home, I took her outside to try them out and I grabbed my camera.  She was having a hard time at first and would rather eat rocks :-)  but she finally got the hang of it.  I put the images on my computer and then forgot about them until today.

These were taken at the end of July/ beginning of August (I can't remember the exact date - LOL)

They grow up so fast.  Hug your kiddos and enjoy the stage they are in today. 
Tomorrow it will be history.

Just for fun...

School has started and summer is over - for the kids anyway :-)

A couple of weeks ago the kiddos in the neighborhood wanted to have a sleepover.  I agreed to this "party of 7" - (well "8" including my baby girl).  They did the usual sleepover stuff - played games, watched movies, ate, and crashed in the living room floor.  The next morning I had to grab my camera and take a few pics :-)

Blessed.

***WARNING*** I'm sharing pictures of me in this post, trusting that my blogging family will still love me - even though my hair is not brushed and my clothes are wrinkled - Enjoy!

You know those people that remember random things. You know the little things that are mentioned here and there that most people forget when the conversation is over. Well, that's my husband. He may not remember everything ... but the little things ... he has those things tucked away safe and sound.

I'm really behind on my blogging. Summer has kept us busy and I haven't been as faithful to my blog as I would have liked, so now I have catching up to do.

A few (well almost 4) weeks ago was my birthday. I spent the day before my birthday taking care of kiddies and editing. Stuck - inside - editing. Did I mention, I was editing. My wonderful husband decides to invite the neighborhood over for a little "surprise" get together - and boy, was I surprised...

You have to love them for taking the time to coordinate a little surprise party, but can you give a sister a clue - like, go brush your hair - :-)

I was totally shocked.

As if the little party wasn't enough - My husband and friends bought me a little gift.

I couldn't believe it.
It was something that I wanted and mentioned to my husband, maybe one time.
I've invested a lot of money into my photography business lately and I felt guilty for wanting this particular item, because for us - it's a "high ticket" item.
I wouldn't dare ask for it because it's not really a "need" but it was a really big "want".

My husband, found this item on-line, picked out the one he thought I would like, ordered it, had it sent to his work so I would not have a clue, and then emailed all my friends.
What a great guy. I am truly blessed.

Baby days are over...

Goodbye baby days and hello toddler ways!  That's right folks, Carolyn is now walking :-)  I have to admit I'm a little sad.  I feel like this past year just flew by.  Where did my little baby go?  She started crawling at 9mths and just recently started walking at 13mths.  I was a little concerned at first because my middle child, Hailey, started walking at 9mths and Carolyn was just starting to crawl at that age - but no worries - all is well.  She is such a sweet girl.  She loves to look at books, watch Dora the Explorer, listen to music - she really likes Colbie Caillat - seriously she loves her - if she is crying in the car we just play Bubbly and she stops and smiles - strange I know.  She is quite a talker.  Carolyn can say - Uh Oh, Hey Baby, Love You Too, Dora, Dada (daddy), Was Dat (what's that), Mmmm Good.  No, she does not say any form of the word mother - she calls me baby :-)

Isn't she too cute?  And yes, that is a stroller in the middle of my living room - we have to get creative with ways to barricade her in :-)

I love how they use their little arms to help them balance - she is concentrating so hard...

There you have it.  Carolyn can now walk - even though her preferred method of travel is still crawling - swiftly I might add.  Ryan and Hailey have really enjoyed watching her go through this transition.  I couldn't ask for a better older brother and sister.  We have all been cheering her on and are proud of our new little walker.
